The first signs of aging appear as wrinkles around our eyes, forehead, cheeks and lips. While wrinkles are normal, a defining feature of the human face, they can sometimes falsely portray a tired or more aged appearance.

Botox ® injections are used to treat facial wrinkles, restoring a more youthful, rested appearance.

We are born with dynamic wrinkles, which are associated with the muscles we use for facial expression.  As we continuously use our facial muscles to express feeling mild wrinkles appear when we are young, but they become deeper and more noticeable as we become older.  Botox ® can be used to treat these dynamic wrinkles and make them less noticeable.

Botulinum toxin is extracted from the bacteria Clostridia Botulinum in much the same way as penicillin is derived form mould.  This purified protein injection blocks transmission of the nerve ending to the muscle.  As a result the muscle relaxes, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

A topical anesthetic cream may be applied to decrease the sensation of the injections.  Using a very fine needle, Botox is injected directly into the targeted facial muscles.  This treatment takes only a few minutes and is given during a typical office visit.  You should be able to return to your normal activities immediately.

The effects of Botox induced muscle relaxation begin to occur within about three days.  By the end of the first week, you will probably notice a significant reduction of fine lines and wrinkles around treated areas.

Why do I need a filler?

Over time, your face changes in many ways.

Your skin loses some of the building blocks (hyaluronic acid and collagen) that give the skin its structure.

Over time deepening of the static lines (lines at rest) and midface volume loss become visible.

The procedure of replacing volume is called skin augmentation. A soft tissue filler is injected into the skin to help fill facial wrinkles and restore a smoother appearance.

High quality approved cross-linked hyaluronic acid fillers is used to gives long lasting non-permanent effects. Different range of fillers is used according to the specific indication.
